Founder Bios
David Moran, Chief Meteorologist
Originally from Kansas, Chief Meteorologist David Moran has seen his share of severe weather. He moved to Oklahoma in 1994 where he graduated from Broken Arrow High School. After high school, he attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics. Schooling was tough with a lot of physics and calculus. Interested in all areas of meteorology he seems to be most drawn to Radar Meteorology and Mesoscale Meteorology. He is currently a full member of the American Meteorological Society.
David's decision to become a meteorologist was influenced by his friend and long time Tulsa meteorologist, Travis Meyer. Aside from being a meteorologist he also teaches. When he's not working David enjoys spending time with his friends and family, watching sports, and traveling. David has Cerebral Palsy which affects his motor skills, but despite the Cerebral Palsy he can do almost anything a fully able bodied person can do. David is currently single and living in Norman.
Kari Kralik, Chief Forecaster
Kari Kralik was born in Missouri, later living in Lawrence, Kansas, then finally making her home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma where she did "most" of her growing up. Her passion for weather started in 1979, while at her Grandmothers' house, seeing her first Tornado right across the street that lifted and did damage in the nearby town of Kiefer, Oklahoma. While working in a hospital pharmacy for 16 years, she also volunteered for Creek County Emergency Management as Assistant Communications Co-ordinator, often being the voice of calm in weather emergencies. Kari also was a Storm Team Tracker for KJRH/Tulsa the NBC affiliate for seven years. She is still currently licensed by the Tulsa National Weather Service as a Storm Spotter/Chaser. Kari has won various awards for her efforts in this field, and has appeared on live television broadcasts, specials, and "live phone in updates for television".
In 2008 Kari changed careers and now has a degree in Broadcasting. She works on an "as-needed" basis at KXOJ/Tulsa a Christian Radio Station in the Tulsa market. When asked why she doesn't become a Professional Meteorologist, her answer is "Weather is my Passion, I want to help people out of my heart, I don't need to get paid for that. Besides, the Math scares the heck out of me".
